Icon Racing

horse racing is the greatest game in sports

Don’t miss your opportunity to experience the thrill of the sport as an owner and celebrate winning like a World Series winner.

Making Horse Racing Mainstream

For years horse racing has been viewed as an outdated sport that is complicated with a steep learning curve making newcomers feel like outsiders. Join Icon and help us change the narrative by immersing yourself in the majesty of this sport and the beauty of its equine athletes while bringing friends and family along for the journey.

Our mission

Turning the Sport of Kings into a Sport for All

After retiring from Major League Baseball, Jayson Werth fell in love with the sport of thoroughbred horse racing as he experienced it through the eyes of his beloved Belmont Stakes winner Dornoch. By forming Icon Racing, Jayson hopes to share this love and appreciation of the sport with others by making the ownership of racehorses simple, transparent and fun.

Traditionally, horse racing has been viewed as an exclusive sport for the wealthy with high barriers to entry and many detailed requirements to navigate. The goal of Icon is to erase these barriers to entry and invite traditional sports fans into the ownership of horses in a way that allows them to simply follow their horses, attend races and celebrate winning.

A day in the life of an Icon partner

Don’t worry if you don’t know what a “maiden special weight” is. That’s what the pros are for. Icon takes care of the horse selection process with Jayson and Legion Bloodstock — they know what to look for, what’s worth buying, and what’s not.

You just get to be a part of the ride. Over time, you’ll start picking up the lingo, learning how things work, and maybe even pretending you’re a bloodstock expert (we all do it).

So, picture this: you’re standing trackside, drink in hand, surrounded by your friends, and your horse is literally flying down the stretch. Your heart’s pounding, everyone’s yelling, and for a second, time kind of freezes — then boom, your horse crosses the finish line first. That’s the moment. That’s why we do this.

And the best part? You didn’t have to deal with any of the tedious behind-the-scenes stuff. You just showed up, had a blast, and lived the dream. That’s what owning a racehorse with Icon Racing is all about."

Icon Racing was built for people who want the thrill of owning a racehorse without the usual stress. You’re not out there scouting horses at 5 a.m. or worrying about vet bills. Icon — and former MLB All-Star Jayson Werth — handles everything. They team up with Legion Bloodstock to pick out top-quality horses at auctions, they work with trainers, they manage the schedule, and they keep you in the loop.

You? You get to go to the track, hang out, drink champagne (or beers, no judgment), and root for your horse like your life depends on it. You get the texts, the updates, the photos, and the party invites. It’s ownership, minus the headaches.

Let’s be real: horse racing is already wild — fast horses, big crowds, and the energy is electric. But when you own a horse? It’s a whole different level.

You're not just watching the race — you’re part of it. You’re in the paddock before the race, you’re in the winner’s circle afterward (if you’re lucky), and you’re in the group chat the whole time screaming in all caps.

It’s like fantasy football, but in real life — and way cooler.
